Halloween is fast approaching, so that means it’s time to decide how you’re going to spend it. Thankfully, there are tons of ways to celebrate Halloween 2020 in Edmonton, with COVID precautions in place. From Fort Edmonton Park’s annual DARK event to the family-friendly Boo at the Zoo, check out the top Halloween events in Edmonton this year.

DARK at Fort Edmonton Park

DARK is back for another spooky year at Fort Edmonton Park. This year, DARK is made up of a mix of virtual online events and in-person outdoor events, each as scary as the last. This year’s lineup include Curio Shoppe and Dark Escape: Haunts of the Selkirk, both of which are online. Then there is DARK Mixology, a craft cocktail experience, a Halloween-themed Quiz Night, and most frightening of all, Paranormal Investigations, which will have participants exploring the deepest corners of the park at night. DARK is ideally suited to teenagers and young adults.

Boo at the Zoo

The Edmonton Zoo is open for business this Halloween, and is welcoming children of all ages through its gates. Through Boo at the Zoo, kids are able to see their favourite zoo animals, while dressed up in their Halloween costume. Guests are also encouraged to bring their own reusable treat bags as zoo staff will be handing out candy at designated trick or treat stations on October 24, 25, and 31.

Deadmonton Haunted House

Deadmonton Haunted House is the first haunted house attraction located in downtown Edmonton. This event actually includes two different haunted houses with distinct themes. The first has an Area 51 theme, where you will walk through a classified military test facility that may or may not be home to aliens. The second is “Dusk - Rise of the Dead” and will feature all things tombs and crypts. Face masks are required and tickets can be bought for just one haunted house experience or both.

If you plan on visiting Edmonton this Halloween, then be sure to book a room at the Days Inn by Wyndham Edmonton South. We offer quality accommodation at an unbeatable price, not to mention the fact that we are located near many of the top Halloween events in the city.
